This analysis was carried out with Luis Ainstein's systemic approach, which consists of three key moments, as an attractive central area, mainly due to the port and its activity, later transformed into the temporary financial center of the new country, which generates a process of massive urbanization of which we characterize two sub-stages due to the type of development policies, exogenous growth, which is a primary-export economic policy, which in turn attracts large numbers of immigrants, this generates an economic boom, which ends with the creation of synthetic saltpeter, the construction of the Panama Canal, which leaves the port out of the trade routes, and then, in this same stage we characterize the endogenous growth, marked by the period of state-led industrialization and rural-urban migration in the middle of the twentieth century. XX. Finally, this work provides the economic framework from 1973 to the current period, which inserts this city, already converted into a metropolitan area in the context of the global economy, at the cost of a shocking process of economic liberalization, deepened in the years of democracy, which results in a territory directed by the market rather than by planning, showing a segmented and discontinuous urbanization in its metropolitan area. |

Buenos Aires, Argentina Fernández Castro, Javier Valparaíso Chile Valdés San Martín, Iván Ariel 2023-09-07 Este trabajo de investigación evidencia la evolución de la difusión urbana de Valparaíso, un paso de pequeño asentamiento a área metropolitana y el constante crecimiento que ha devenido en un escenario de segregación socio territorial, propiciado por las políticas de liberalización económica de los últimos 50 años. Para este análisis se realizó con la aproximación sistémica de Luis Ainstein, en el cual consta de tres momentos claves, como área central atrayente, principalmente por el puerto y su actividad, posteriormente se transforma en el centro financiero temporal del nuevo país, lo que genera un proceso de urbanización masiva de la cual caracterizamos dos sub-etapas debido al tipo de políticas de desarrollo, el crecimiento exógeno, que es una política económica primaria-exportadora de minerales, que a su vez atrae gran cantidad de inmigrantes, esto genera un boom económico, que termina con la creación del salitre sintético, la construcción del Canal de Panamá, lo que deja al puerto fuera de las rutas comerciales, y luego, en esta misma etapa caracterizamos el crecimiento endógeno, marcado por el periodo de industrialización dirigida por el Estado y la migración campo-ciudad de mitad del S.XX.
